Bug in vBulletin (the forum's software)

If I start to compose, and then try to insert a "bulleted list,"
the new list appears in the composition window,
but everything I had composed before the insertion
completely disappears!

No, nothing at all was "selected" (for replacement)
before inserting the list.

This has happened to me twice, so now I always first
"copy" anything I am composing, and save it in Notepad,
to protect against any more wipe-outs.

The web browser I am using is Opera 9.24, javascript enabled
(Opera claims to strictly comply with all established standards,
which may mean that vBulletin is dependent on some particular browser,
if there is any on which this feature actually works properly).
