I see that you have updated to Firefox from Netscape!
Are you telling Eudora to check for new mail every minute, and/or telling it to alert you about the arrival of new mail? |

Sorry, I did not get back to you sooner, I checked under tools/options and this is what I have:
Getting Attention: these 2 have a check marks in them, open mailbox, and play a sound Checking mail: check every 5 minutes This whole problem started a few months ago. I have been using Eudora started with 1.2 (I think that was the version) |

That is likely why it is happening.
Try checking mail every zero minutes (in other words, manually, whenever you are ready to take a break and see some new mail). |

"Minimizing" Eudora's application window
(so that Eudora appears only on the Windows Taskbar) may also work, to prevent "focus" from returning to Eudora. This may not stop a pop-up (dialog box) and/or sound, if these alerts had been requested -- a bit of experimentation may be in order! |

JH: re: your answer "Try checking mail every zero minutes
(in other words, manually, whenever you are ready to take a break and see some new mail)." Tried it and so far it is working O.K, I just go periodically to check and see if I have any mail. Haven't tried your other suggestion yet, but Thanks for helping me. |
