Question help locating the nickname folder in win 7

Hello,
Does anyone know if the "nickname folder and attachment folder" might be called something else under win 7? or maybe located in another place? I have two machines both running 7.1.0.9(unsponsored )The XP machine i can find the folders , but under Win7 i dont see either one.
Thanks.

The default attachments folder is not created until you receive an attachment.

The default (un-named) address book file and TOC (nndbase.*)
are not created until you create an address book entry.

A default folder "Nickname" is created empty,
and is used only for creating additional, named address books.

If your "Data" folder path, seen in "Help" | "About Eudora"
is under where program files are normally stored,
you have installed improperly for Vista or Windows 7.

Store your mail, settings, and all "user files"
somewhere else -- never under where program files go.

This has been strongly recommended since year 2000,
when Eudora version 5 was released:

"Installing Eudora on Windows 2000/XP"
http://www.eudora.com/techsupport/kb/2128hq.html

In 2006, Vista started being sterner with anyone not taking heed,
as many unhappy people have noticed, after the fact.

Here are additional general installation instructions,
as they have existed ever since Eudora version 5
(the page dates back to Oct 2000,
although the version number has since been updated to "7.1" :)

"Upgrading to 7.1 (Windows)"
http://www.eudora.com/techsupport/ne...grade/win.html
http://www.eudora.com/techsupport/newto5/upgrade/win.html

My advice is to ALWAYS USE THE INSTALLER,
and unless you know a lot about Windows,
accept its default location suggestions,
for both program files and data ("user app data")

JH,
I re installed eudora under program files like i normally would, but the data folder i installed under the other choice(NOT program files) it looks like it still installed the data folder under the the program files anyhow. I then UN installed the entire program and tried it again i got the same thing... as a matter of fact everything stayed the same settings and everything. It IS possible to install this under windows 7 properly right? I will look again , but the folder Nickname escapes me for the time being.
thank you again

Stop Eudora and look in its program files folder:

Does file "deudora.ini" contain a line saying "UseAppData=1"
(rather than "DataFolder=...")?

If there is a "Eudora.ini" file in the same folder as "Eudora.exe,"
try renaming that "Eudora.ini" to "EudoraOLD.ini"

Start Eudora again -- where did it find its "Data" folder now?

Default success..

Hello again,
I am not sure of how i (we) did this , but i think it worked. there was a matter dragging my old nndbase into the new NNDBASE. i think that might have had something to do with it. I now have to re configure my Eudora again- but it was worth it.
thanks for all of the help. I was a bout 30 seconds away from using outlook.

yuk...... i have never had OL on any of my machines thanks to you i dont have to start now.
