Check Messages More than 1 Minute

Is there any way to check one of my emails more than every minute? I am an appraiser that gets orders via broadcast to several appraisers and the first one that accepts, gets the order.

There is no setting for that.

The only way to do that is to check for mail manually, but that's probably not very practical.

Checking POP email even that frequently
is sometimes considered abusive by some ISPs.

You can click "refresh" as often as you want
on a Gmail account, however, as well as on
some "webmail" portals supplied by ISPs.

If you want an "upstream" scout to announce new mail instantly,
ask your ISP whether you can get a "shell account" on their
mail server -- this would let you log in on the mail server,
and get the fastest alert that's possible.

Forwarding to a pager, or to some "texting by email" service,
might be another way.
